Great March For The Defense Of Animal Rights

Great march for the defense of animal rights

They cannot speak or defend themselves. That is why there are people who communicate and fight on your behalf. We are talking about a great march that was carried out in favor of animal rights and that fortunately is replicated in different parts of the world.

Peace and animal rights

Basically those two are the premises that were taken into account last Sunday, September 25. It was when in several cities of Colombia a massive march in favor of the animals was carried out. All those committed to their rights came together at the initiative of the “Animals Free from Torture” Platform (ALTO). All in a peaceful protest that included posters, pets, and music.

The idea was simple: to benefit all living beings that inhabit the national territory. Under the motto, “Peace for animals, peace for nature”, various social actors, public figures, students and people of all ages joined the main parade. This began at 9 in the morning in the Plaza de Toros La Santamaría and ended in the Plaza de Bolívar. The event culminated with a musical show by the Bogotá Youth Philharmonic Orchestra.

The other cities that joined the idea were Bucaramanga, Tunja, Popayán, Mosquera, Funza, San Juan de Pasto, Duitama and Vélez.

The Argentine march for animal rights

In June, protectionists and rescuers from the coastal city of Mar del Plata held a march in defense of animals in Plaza San Martín, in front of the local Cathedral. About 500 people showed up with their pets. Using the slogan “Not one less”, they marched so that everyone knows that they are the voice of those who do not speak.

The violence and abuse that animals suffer every day was the problem questioned in this Argentine march. The event passed in silence. The assistants affirmed that now they hope that the law against animal mistreatment is fulfilled at the national level.

The main issues to work on are irresponsible pet ownership. Also the exploitation of animals for work, dog fights, the bad conditions of zoos or greyhound racing.

The March in Mexico

Apparently, this year there have been many mobilizations in favor of animal rights in Latin America. The third case took place in Mexico City, also in June of this year. Several civil and citizen organizations participated in the march. This speaks on the one hand the conscience of society, and on the other, the lack of laws that contemplate all living beings.

In this great march in Mexico there were expressions in favor of a law recently modified by the Legislative Assembly of the Federal District. This prohibits the presence of animals in circus shows and the like.

Many attendees walked dressed as animals such as the tiger, the crocodile, the pig, the killer whale and the zebra. Thus they spoke of a problem that affects all species due to human behavior. The march took place in the streets of the historic center of the city. He also repudiated acts such as bullfights, zoos, aquatic shows, scientific experiments and tests on animals.

What to do for animal rights?

If you want to be an activist for beings who have no voice, there are many ways to help. First of all, learn about the problem that hurts the most animals in your city or country. There are many investigations that can be useful to you. You can “dedicate yourself” to a particular situation, such as indiscriminate whaling, animals locked up in circuses, the sale of purebred dogs, animal work, etc.

The second step is to be active. How? Disclosing the data you collected to the people around you, on social media, in your neighborhood, university or work. Lack of information is often the worst punishment animals can receive.

We also recommend that you look for an association or foundation that is responsible for carrying out actions in favor of animal rights (such as Greenpeace or WWF), and be part of it.
