Although we are happy to hear from people fighting for animals and for their survival, we are still saddened by stories about the heartless who are cruel to them and sometimes kill them. Today, although we regret doing it, we have to tell you this sad epic of pets that have been left to die of hunger and thirst.

We have to do it as little as we like because we need it to spread so that we can raise awareness and prevent these episodes from being repeated. Although the ending was not the best for some of the animals, it was fair for the heartless guilty who ended up in detention. The story happened in Alcalá de Guadaira in Seville. Moved by the hundreds of complaints on social networks about the aforementioned, which were located on a farm in the Cerro Clavijo area, the police officers arrived at the place.

When they arrived at the farm they found a cruel and shocking scene. There were at least ten dogs that were on the verge of death from dehydration and malnutrition, the result of having neither food nor water. One of them was already dead when the agents arrived and another died within minutes.

On the other side of the farm they found a dead horse covered with an awning. There was another in very bad condition who was transferred to undergo surgery and try to save his life, but that could not be, he died after the intervention.

Not happy with that, two donkeys were dying, with signs of lack of water and food. The truth is that the scene must have been grim and sad. It is a pity that these painful situations still occur today.

How did the police hear about the news?

The detainees’ neighbors were aware of what was happening on that farm. They were sad and tired of seeing day after day that the animals became thin and malnourished and dehydrated and even heard them cry. So since they did not want to be involved and receive reproaches or even threats from the accused, they decided to publish photos and explanations of these practices and the place on social networks.

They did not take long to reach the police, who quickly requested a search and seizure warrant. Although in Spain the images of social networks and surveillance cameras are not considered judicial evidence, in this case and as an exception , the agents were given free rein to do what they considered appropriate.

The police did not hesitate for a minute what they had to do and detained the two owners of the farm and one of his partners and were taken to court after seeing the images and seeing firsthand what was happening there.

This verdict was based on the reports of a local veterinarian who was required by the agents. He was able to see the sorry state of the animals, the poor creatures already dead and how a dozen more of them were tied to a trailer car without food or food.

The animal abuse was obvious and the vet had no hesitation to affirm and sign that in the police report.

It takes courage to report a case of abuse, and we know that fear of reprisals and threats is present in these cases, but the residents of Alcalá did the right thing and thanks to them there have been some of these animals that have been saved.
